Well, this video was originally an NKode release. However considering Kev is working his ass off the poor guy doesnt get a chance to edit much. Which is why we're happy to show off his classic work.
Hopefully you enjoyed it even if the quality is circa 2003.You can see my review is short. This was actually my VERY FIRST MV review that I did in this format. Good memories.....
WE MISS YA KEV!!!

Well I've been waiting for sonics next vid for awhile since "The Show Must Go On" to FF 7 as I really enjoyed his last output and I'm happy to say that though I didn't REALLY like Titanic, I'll give it credit as a decent movie, this music vid does the movie almost more credit than it deserves. (In other words the video was well done despite me having mediocre feelings toward the film)
NKoder - Sonicoolkev
NKode Category - Movies - Titanic
Video Quality
Kev pretty much let us know why the quality wasn't as good as it should be and what can ya say to that? Shiznit happens and overall the lack in video qualty doesn't really detract from the AMV. If this had been some obscure movie or game then it would have been more of a problem. But everyone and their dog has seen this movie and the video quality isn't so bad as some other AMV's out there. There were only 1 or 2 points where this was an issue for me, but each person's experience differs on their monitor and video viewer. Because of the "crash" the qulaity was lower than usual. But its was no big deal.
Video Quality Score - 3/5
Music Choice - From This Moment On - Shania Twain
Sonic made it easy for himself on this one. Love story + Love song = easy pickins for his transitions/matching. A good choice for a love story and it worked well with his video. Enuf said.
Music Choice Score - 5/5
Transitions And Effects
Kev set the bar high for himself in my eyes when he put out "The Show Must Go On". Here he does just as good. Only at one point did I have an issue with an effect: when the ship splits in half and the top half hits the water on top of all the people the impact and splash is made negative and I think that it was a cool idea but everyone wants to see the impact. The negative takes away the awe and (sickly) the satisfaction of seeing the people get nailed by this 10000 tonne boat. The transition may have been able to have been done just as smoothly but I feel that it would have been fine without using the negative.
The watery effects were a perfect idea. Unfortunately due to the not so good quality, the opening looked more choppy than it should have. But the reason has been taken into account. So no worries. For some reason I love the olde black and white look with the lines going in and out. And for the beginning from the intro to the start of the movie this worked perfect. It added to the feeling of the titanic and reminds the viewer that this gigantor ship is a part of our human history and it was back in the days of black and white.....it adds that retrospective feel to it and I like it. Like in Auron's latest vid that was released, the jumping ahead worked very well and progressed the tale within the music and timeframe nicely. Its a nice contrast to the romance within the story. Pretty much the romance happened the same way. It started up and they took it fast. I really liked the split screen action at the beginning of the movie at around 1'15 introducing our main characters and where they were at the beginning in relation to each other. One gambling to get on, the other had her way paid. Nice use of the split.
All the other basic transitions fading etc were flawlessly done and well timed.
Transitions & Effects Score - 4/5
Timing & Lyric Sync
To me this makes or breaks a music vid. Sonic either spent an eternity getting the timing down absolutely perfect or he's just lucky. I would assume the latter rather than the former as it shows that he spent a lot hard work and time on this one, because if the timing had been off then this could have been really bad. Because he chose a good song to work with right off the bat he had it made. Each scene and transition goes with the music. Example: from 1'36 to 1'56 Sonic jumps the scene pretty much on each percussion beat or a certain lyric with needle in a haystack precision. Not only the timing but the clips he chose also perfectly sets the tone and at the end of this at 1'56 he fades out to the next clip instead of jumping to it as the music flows to the next part of the song( as opposed to jumping). Like I've harped on before the song he chose made it easy to lyric sync to. So if he hadn't lyric synced as well as he had, there would have been no excuse. Like the timing, sonic nailed this. example: "From This Moment I have been blessed" It shows Rose and jack talking in the sunset which transitions to the next scene. Generally they're under this beautiful sunset with each other and the sunset goes white. Some may say that could be symbolism for being blessed having white light shine on your from above. Another simple example to the lyric: "I Give my hand to you with all my heart...." sonic shows us where Rose takes Jacks hand as she decides not to jump off the ship. Its a no brainer, but a lot of amateurs wouldn't really think about it or care. I'm not going to describe the rest but he has all his bases covered on this one folks. This made the music vid enjoyable to watch for me(on top of the other stuff of course) I love seeing that connection between the song that was chosen and the video. And this connection was made stronger than fat to mcdonalds.
Timing And Lyric Sync Score - 5/5
Overall Impression
Generally I was luke-warm towards the movie. I thought it was alright in some places(that unknown guy falling 100 feet only to nail his head on a rail....)no so alright in others. However, the movie that was put together here by Sonic is Solid. The transitions are strong and the lyrics and timing were superb. If I could make this short I would say the Sonicoolkev has done everyone a favor and made this 2 hour movie into a 6 minute epic that still gets the message across. Love lasts forever.....or something along those lines. I dont know exactly what Cameron had in mind for overall message, but the message that Sonic sends is loud and clear. "Who Needs the Titanic VHS or DVD when you already have The NKoded version?"
Overall Impression Score - 5/5
FINAL GRADE - 22/25 - 88% - A

This one is one of my favorite Sonic videos.

I'm really sorry peeps for not being around much, im extremely busy with my career in acting and what not, it ain't excuse, its just im so busy to the point that I lack of sleep many times... but when I do get the chance, I will try to make another music video!! Bullet of Life is still in process of editing, it won't be done probably till mid-august or september. It was suppose to be a full-length feature film, but because most major festivals like sundance, tribeca, golden horse doesn't accept any videos that's more than 30 minutes, therefore it will now become a short! err... or wellz, the shorter the better I guess.. but I will keep you guys posted it!!! Thanks Epical for giving my Titanic music video a home and exposure
