Yes her babies  I have no doubt that she's probably very happy to have a set place for people to enjoy her trilogy. After a year or so of work I would want to make sure my stuff got seen as well. Yay for Lu!!

well done on the release lu... haven't redownloaded them... but i could just rewatch your videos which i still have on my comp now. okay so i haven't done that yet, but just here to say that i thought they were rather good at the time of watching, even though i had absolutely no clue what was going on (and all video game characters look the same to me in that game) hehehehe.... so it must mean that the videos are pretty good ^^

Hehehehe, well don't redownload them if you have them birdman.
Yes it's good to have a permenent home for them now. I didn't retag them like I did the others, I left them as they were. These vids are special to me and Jay's right, they are my babies LOL I have never done a project of any kind that I've actually taken a year ((day in and day out on) as in, if I wasn't editing, I was thinking or listening to the music) I've done paintings that have taken over a year, but I didn't focus on them everyday. So ya, this was different for me.
So thanks everyone for putting up with my Kingdom videos once again and as long as Epical stands, we won't have to re-release them again. I'm starting to put a new meaning to the phrase 'Ancient Chinese torture' ........ No Lu, Not The Kingdom Videos Again!!!!!!!!

    Review

The Review Below Was originally made at the time of the video's release over a year ago with NKode. (Hence all of the NKode references). I'm still happy to say it has stood up well to the sands of time....well the little bit of sand that has blown by anyway.
But anyway here I give you my review of Lulu's Dynasty Warriors: The Kingdom of Shu.

Wow. Two releases in so short a time.I'm shellshocked. But this is a good thing. Tis the season of giving and Lulu and NKode give to us Insight into the Dynasty Warriors world. Lulu is doing a great job making me view games that I've never really knew what they were about(Xenogears) or in Dynasty Warriors case, barely heard of. I need this type of stimulation to get out of my rut since I hear about these great games but never check them out. Good move Lu. But you didnt come to this thread to read about my stigmas, so in the spirit of giving, I'll conform to the current NKode way and give you my review of Lulu's Video - Dynasty Warriors: The Kingdom Of Shu.

    NKoder - Lulu

NKode Category - Games - Dynasty Warriors

    Video Quality

Throughout the whole video the vid and movement quality is very good. I assume that the clips were retrieved via capture, and the quality of each clip used is crystal clear. Not once did I notice any pixellation where I would usually expect to see some.(For reference I'm watching the vid with the latest divx player/codec, full screen on a 17" flat screen monitor) There were times when some clips looked blurry, however, at these times the clip that was blurry was used only for about a split second and that individual clip was of some fast action anyhow where blurryness would be expected. Any time where the blurriness was prolonged it was obviously done by the NKoder.I believe that if the blurriness wasn't a part of the original animation then it was intentional by Lulu to add to the "action" feel. I believe this because the rest of all the clips used are so crystal clear that I doubt she would lower her clip standards here and there. Why go grade A for most of the movie and then throw in some scraps? Yeah like we wouldn't notice. No, I'm quite positive it was intentional or original. Most of the movie was very very silky smooth. No stuttering, or jumping. Pretty much everything was fluid from transition to transition where a lot of times stuttering in the movement can be found. I did find it a little bit though near the end and at one other point in the vid. Hey, 98% ain't bad Especially considering the vid under review has A LOT of fast moving clips where pixellation and stuttering can be easily found en mass. But here, only a tiny bit. Well done.

    Video Quality Score - 4.5/5

Music Choice - Fly From The Inside - Shinedown

Since I havent played this game, nor am I familiar with its main plotlines/background story, this is harder to judge as the lyrics may be talking about an internal struggle as well as an external battle. However, keeping in mind the main point that Lu has made an "action" type movie the type of music, rather than the lyrics, is the key point here. As far as action goes the song's tempo I found is quite good. It does have slower points, however this doesn't slow down the action being shown. Even in its slower parts the song still has that "action" feeling to it. Rather, it pumps you up for the faster parts. With a strong percussion track and kickin guitar riffs this song was an acceptable choice for the type of video being presented. Action. Just think action. We'll get to the "lyric" part later kids.

    Music Choice Score - 5/5

    Transitions And Effects

This is action people. It looks like a good way to go in making an action vid is the K.I.S.S. style. (Keep It Simple Stupid ) Lots of clips get thrown at you as the pace is generally quite quick, so in able to make the vid look as good as it did, Lu did in the way of Auron and Sonic's last releases respectively, and jumped from point to point. This isn't neccesarily an effect per se I would think, or even a transition as it just goes from one clip to the other. But its well done anyhow. Transitions to make note of however that were a beautiful touch in the melee of clips were some nice cross fades(see 3'42, 3'48, 3'52 and 4'01) during the slower points (if you could call them slow) of the vid as well as a circular blend/fade used 2 or 3 times especially at 3'27 where the blend worked very well. Little effects that added to the vid during transition where the next clip was of a character riding a horse towards the viewer so the picture was stretched to add that liitle look to punctuate that element of speed. Nice little touches that make NKode and NKoders just a little bit better in my POV. Attention to the small stuff. I really liked how the video ended as well. How Lu had a clip frozen and then it moved and faded or switched to another character to the music. Simple, but damn effective. A nice way to keep focus on these strong characters even in the end. Speaking of the end, the outro was really a nice touch.

Transitions And Effects Score - 5/5

    Timing And Lyric Sync

If I could split this category into two this would be a bit easier. Lu's timing had to be on the ball for an action vid. And she comes through big time. The split second clip switches to the music are bang on. Good examples of this can be found around 4'07 to 4'16 as well as 0'28 to 0'37. The exemplary timing adds to the "action" feel that the NKoder is trying to bring across. This also helps when considering the lyric sync isn't as on as the timing. Now, this isn't to say that the lyric sync is bad, because it is anything but. In the song there are 3 times where the line "Long Live That Day....." is sung. Two out of those three times the clip shown totally makes sense. (When the three men put their weapons together skyward and when the soldier thrust their weapons and cheers skyward in victory or courage. The middle one does't match up as well.) Another good example is the line "I Am Focused On What I Am After" and Lulu has a nice circular blur from the marching army to (possibly and opposing?)another army at a castle symbolozing that is what they are after. It worked well. There are many other times that the lyrics synced well. However, there were many points as well where the clip had the right idea but didn't quite make the connection or the it was a strech to try and make a connection. After the "Focused on What I Am After..." line there's "the Key To The Next open chapter" The clip shown is two of the warriors, one sitting and the other standing. This was possibly just a fill-in for the next clip, but it doesn't really serve a purpose that I can find. Unless one of them has a key to the next part of the game/story(which isn't that obvious if this is the case), the clip seems to be just a filler as two guys chillin do not match the line that well. Also at 2'39 there is one of a couple "I Found A Way...." line. The clip is of a boy/solider running to catch up with one of the warriors and bows to him/or offers a prayer for him. How this symbolizes the warriors finding a way to "take the sun from the sky"(meeting their objective) I can't make the connection. The next clip after this is of a redonkulously huge kick @$$ dragon coming out of a ball of fire that matches the "sun from the sky" line awesomely, but the clip before doesn't fit the same way many of the other scenes fit. There is this case a few times. The awesome timing and nice transitions mask it pretty well. However, it was noticeable here and there and I had to really stretch my imagination to try and make a connection at times. All in all though, it still made for a sweet, smooth ride.

Timing And Lyric Sync Score - 3.5/5

    Overall Impression

Like I mentioned at the beginning, I have never had the chance to play the games in this series, nor have I really even heard of them much. However, if they are as action filled as Lulu represented in this vid, methinks I'm going to go and try to find copies of these games. There looks to be a great story behind it as well. Lulu did a good job in sending this message. I still have the timing and transitions in my head as I type this they were that good. A quality showing from Lulu and I think a definite improvement over her Xenogears vid. I liked this vid quite a bit, which is a hard thing to make me do considering I have never played the games before. I'm looking forward to what we will see from Lulu next as I'm already ready for the next installment in this vid series. Keep 'em coming!

    Overall Impression Score - 4.5/5

    FINAL GRADE - 22.5/25 - 90% - A

Triple post.....totally against rules. Ahem this is a perfect example of what NOT to do when playing in the forum, kids.
However my reason is acceptable....I think...*Hides from Slayne*
This next review was originally posted Sept 19, 2004. Just reading it still gets me mad. And you'll see why. This review is for Lulu's Dyanasty Warriors: The Kingdom of Wei. You may be wondering where the review for Wu is. Unfortunately it has been lost between moves etc. I still may re-write it in the future. Possibly this one as well. But for now this was the impromptu review I gave the video.

I am extremely Upset at the moment. I just spent about 2 or so hours typing up my review and was previewing it and was just getting near the end when my damn computer freezes up and crashes. So everything I had typed was lost. I am very upset and angry as there is no way I'll ever have that review the way I typed it earlier.
Being as choked as I am at the moment, I cannot restart and just the thought of sitting here another 2 hours redoing everything I just did is making me even madder.
I am very sorry Lulu that this is what you are seeing instead of a full review that you deserve.
The final score that the review came out to was:

    Video Quality - 5

    Music Choice - 5

    Transitions and Effects - 4.5

Timing and Lyric Sync - 4.5

    Overall Impression - 5

    Final Score - 24/25 - 96% - A

Once again I am SO sorry. I talked to TM just as I was starting it and before I started the transitions and effects and Lady Venum witnessed the crash. So I'm not doing this because I was too lazy to write up this review. If anyone knows of ways to recover lost info like this I would be soooo appreciative. I didnt even have a chance ot save it as I save a copy of every review that I do in case some go missing in the forum.
Please forgive this lack of a full review.
